Information

Porroglossum portillae xanthinum

Porroglossum portillae xanthinum Culture

Porroglossum portillae xanthinum belongs to the genus Porroglossum and comes from our own propagation in Ecuador. It is an intermediate orchid.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light, out of direct midday sun.
  • Temperature: It prefers days of 20-28 °C (68-82 °F) and cooler nights around 15-20 °C (59-68 °F).
  • Humidity: Aim for 60-80% humidity year-round, always paired with good air circulation.
  • Watering: Water regularly during active growth, allowing the medium to begin drying between waterings. Reduce slightly during the cooler months.

Additional notes: The lowercase epithet 'xanthinum' tells you this is the yellow color form of the species, distinct from its typical coloring - these selected forms are favorites among collectors.
