A select cross of two outstanding clones of Phrag. besseae, a prized slipper orchid native to Ecuador, combining the broad, rounded petals and full, flat floral form of 'Bolo Bolo' with the vigor and substance of 'Pepe Dream'. The large, well-formed flowers feature a compact pouch with a luminous yellow-striped throat, characteristic of the finest besseae selections.
-
Light: Moderate indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the strap-like leaves.
-
Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); a cool-intermediate grower that benefits from consistent cool nights to encourage reblooming.
-
Humidity: 70–85%; maintain high humidity with good air movement to prevent fungal issues around the crown.
-
Watering: Water frequently and keep the roots evenly moist at all times; Phragmipedium does not tolerate drying out between waterings.
Additional Notes
Grows well in fine bark, perlite, or a mix with sphagnum moss in a plastic or glazed pot that retains moisture. Ships bare root and well-established — roots are healthy and ready to adapt quickly to your growing conditions.
