Information

Philodendron villamagense 'Pangui'

Philodendron villamagense 'Pangui' is a rare locality form named for the Pangui region of Ecuador, prized by collectors for its bold, richly textured leaves and distinctive regional character. This selection brings a wild, untamed elegance that sets it apart from more widely available philodendrons.

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; filtered shade helps replicate its native understory conditions.
  • Water: Water when the top inch of substrate dries out; keep evenly moist without waterlogging.
  • Temperature: Prefers warm, stable conditions between 65-85°F (18-29°C).
  • Humidity: Thrives with humidity above 60%; higher humidity keeps foliage lush and healthy.
  • Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix with bark, perlite, and coco coir.
  • Support: Benefits from a moss pole or trellis as it matures, encouraging fuller, more developed leaves.

With warmth, humidity, and a little patience, Philodendron villamagense 'Pangui' rewards growers with a distinctive, richly textured specimen straight from Ecuador's diverse cloud forests.
