Paphiopedilum hirsutissimum f. alba

This distinctive alba form displays a lime-green slipper-shaped pouch and long, spreading petals with pale tips and strongly rippled edges. Fine hairs along the flower margins add delicate texture to its unusual silhouette.

• Light: Bright, filtered light near an east-facing window or behind a sheer curtain. Protect from direct midday sun.
• Temperature: Cool to intermediate-growing; 60–77°F (16–25°C) during the day and 50–60°F (10–16°C) at night. Provide cooler nights in winter without exposing the plant to frost.
• Humidity: 50–70%, with gentle air circulation.
• Watering: Keep the potting mix evenly moist during active growth, watering as the surface approaches dryness. Reduce watering slightly in cooler winter conditions without allowing prolonged drying. Use a well-draining orchid mix and avoid standing water.

Additional Notes:

Narrow, dark green leaves form arching fans, with new growths emerging at the base. Keep the crown above the potting mix and repot when the medium begins to break down. Avoid water collecting between the leaves, especially in cool conditions.
