A striking Oncidium hybrid from the cross between Onc. Tiger Brew and Onc. spectatissimum, producing spectacular branching sprays of large, intricately patterned flowers with strong visual impact and impressive spike length.
-
Light: Bright, indirect light under 40β50% shade cloth; sufficient light is critical for robust pseudobulb development and abundant flowering.
-
Temperature: Intermediate to cool grower. Daytime 62β75Β°F (17β24Β°C), nighttime lows of 50β57Β°F (10β14Β°C); a marked day-night differential is essential to trigger blooming.
-
Humidity: Prefers 60β75% relative humidity; humidity trays or a humidifier paired with strong air circulation keep roots and foliage healthy.
-
Watering: Water thoroughly then allow the mix to approach dryness before watering again; reduce slightly once pseudobulbs have fully matured.
Additional Notes
Onc. spectatissimum is native to the Andean cloud forests of Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela at mid to high elevations, lending this hybrid its cool tolerance and large flower size. Best grown in medium bark mix with excellent drainage; repot every 2 years when the substrate begins to decompose.
