Andreettaea zephyrina

Andreettaea zephyrina Luer (2006) is a charming intermediate-cool miniature orchid from Ecuador, named after Zephyr — the gentle west wind — a fitting tribute to its airy, delicate presence. At just 4 cm, this tiny epiphyte is a perfect candidate for terrarium cultivation, offering collectors an authentic Ecuadorian species with a poetic name and intricate blooms.

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect light — filtered sunlight is ideal; avoid direct sun to prevent leaf scorch
  • Temperature: Intermediate-cool conditions with daytime temps of 16–22°C (61–72°F) and cooler nights of 10–15°C (50–59°F)
  • Humidity: High humidity at 70–85%; humidifiers or humidity trays are recommended
  • Watering: Keep substrate consistently moist without waterlogging; a well-draining mix ensures healthy root development
  • Plant size: Approximately 4 cm

Carefully cultivated in the Ecuadorian highlands by Ecuagenera, Andreettaea zephyrina is a refined and botanically interesting choice for intermediate-cool terrarium setups and miniature orchid collectors alike.
