Masdevallia veitchiana peach 'La Reina'

A named clone of the peach form of Masd. veitchiana, one of the most celebrated species in the genus. 'La Reina' — "The Queen" — was selected for the exceptional size and presence of its blooms, which carry the warm, soft tones characteristic of the peach form with particular refinement. A cool-growing showpiece from the Ecuadorian highlands.

• Light: Grow under 50–70% shade cloth; direct sun causes rapid damage to its fine foliage and must be avoided.
• Temperature: Cool grower. Daytime 55–65°F (13–18°C), nights 45–54°F (7–12°C). Consistent cool temperatures are essential; avoid prolonged warmth above 68°F (20°C).
• Humidity: Requires 75–90% relative humidity; its fine root system benefits greatly from a humidifier with steady air movement to prevent desiccation.
• Watering: Keep evenly and consistently moist; best grown mounted or in a small pot with fine bark to allow the roots to dry slightly between waterings, with more frequent misting during warmer months.
