One of the most regal species in the genus, it produces large, vividly colored flowers with long, sweeping tails that cascade dramatically from each bloom. Its bold floral display and compact, lush foliage make it a true showpiece for cool-growing collections.

  • Light: Low to moderate light; 70–80% shade cloth recommended. Avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 45–65°F (7–18°C). Cool grower; requires cool nights and consistent airflow to thrive.
  • Humidity: 80–90%. Maintain high ambient humidity with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist at all times; never allow roots to dry out completely. Water frequently during warm months.

Additional Notes

Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador, this species thrives in sphagnum moss or fine bark with excellent drainage. Shipped bare root, well-established.
