A captivating species renowned for its multicolored flowers that display a striking mosaic of contrasting hues and intricate patterns, creating a harlequin-like appearance. The compact growth habit and sequential blooming make it an excellent choice for collectors.

  • Light: Bright shade with 50-70% filtration; direct sunlight will fade the intricate color patterns.
  • Temperature: Cool grower. Daytime 59-72°F (15-22°C), nighttime 50-59°F (10-15°C). Requires a consistent 10-15°F temperature differential for optimal flower development.
  • Humidity: 70-85% with excellent air circulation; maintain through humidity trays, humidifiers, or terrarium environments.
  • Watering: Keep consistently moist throughout the year; mounted plants require daily misting, potted specimens need watering every 2-3 days.

Additional Notes

Native to Peru at 2,400-3,200 meters elevation. Thrives when mounted on tree fern or cork bark, or grown in small pots with fine bark mix or live sphagnum moss.
