Homalomena Pigskin Black

An Araceae from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia with broad, oval-elliptic leaves featuring a leathery, textured surface and prominent venation. It grows in a compact rosette habit with deep burgundy-red petioles that contrast with the dark foliage above.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which scorches the thick leaves.
• Temperature: 65–82°F (18–28°C); thrives as a warm to intermediate grower with stable, frost-free conditions.
• Humidity: 60–80%; high humidity enhances leaf texture and overall vigor.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of substrate dries; avoid waterlogging and never let roots sit in standing water.
• Growth Habit: Compact rosette-forming terrestrial aroid with short internodes, producing successive leaves from a central crown. Burgundy petioles and leathery, oval foliage give it a bold, sculptural presence.

Grows well in a well-draining mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. Shipped bare root, well-established.
