Dendrobium vexillarius

A highly floriferous epiphytic orchid native to the forests of New Guinea and the surrounding Pacific archipelagos, producing compact, upright stems densely clothed in narrow, linear-lanceolate leaves. Tubular-campanulate flowers with slightly reflexed petals and a rolled labellum emerge simultaneously along the stems, creating a spectacular floral display that is remarkable for the plant's small size.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 30–50% shade cloth; tolerates some morning sun, which intensifies bloom production without scorching the foliage.
• Temperature: 50–70°F (10–21°C); a cool to intermediate grower that requires stable, mild temperatures and excellent air circulation.
• Humidity: 70–90%; very high humidity is essential and inherited from its forest origins — avoid dry conditions, which shorten bloom duration.
• Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist; never allow to dry out completely, as the fine root system has limited water storage capacity.

Additional Notes

Offered as a well-established plant of approximately 7 cm, shipped bare root. Best grown mounted or in a small pot with a fine, moisture-retentive mix and strong air movement. One of the most floriferous miniature Dendrobiums in cultivation.
