A terrestrial bromeliad from the cloud forests of South America, forming a flat, star-shaped rosette of lanceolate leaves with a distinctive mottled pattern of dark irregular spots over a pale ground. The leaf surface is smooth with slightly wavy margins and a firm, leathery texture.

• Temperature: 60–80°F (15–27°C); a warm tropical grower that appreciates stable conditions without cold drafts.
• Humidity: 60–80%; high humidity enhances leaf luster and supports healthy rosette development.
• Watering: Keep the central cup filled with water and water the substrate moderately; avoid waterlogging the roots.
• Growth Habit: Low, spreading terrestrial rosette that offsets freely at the base, producing clumping colonies over time.
