Bulbophyllum plumatum yellow

An intermediate-growing epiphyte from the montane forests of Southeast Asia, producing solitary flowers with extraordinarily elongated lateral sepals that hang vertically as long, thread-like filaments. The small, sharply pointed dorsal sepal and diminutive petals frame the base of this dramatically pendulous floral structure — one of the most striking sepal elongations in the genus.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to protect the foliage.
• Temperature: 58–78°F (14–26°C); an intermediate grower with a minimum tolerance around 55°F (13°C).
• Humidity: 75–90%; high humidity is essential — ensure strong air movement to prevent fungal issues.
• Watering: Keep roots consistently moist but never waterlogged; water frequently with excellent drainage and airflow.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern to allow the pendulous flowers to hang freely and ensure optimal airflow at the roots. Ships bare root, well established.
