Anthurium magnificum silver

Most plants I picked up at the orchid show in Portland, OR were in good to great shape. Magnificum wasn’t. It had travel trauma… one leaf was mush the other one the stem was broken in the middle… none of the two leaves were able to recuperate. I cut them off at the base to give the strength to the plant to produce new leaves rather than wasting its energy into feeding the broken leaves that had no chance of survival. Too bad, as it left me with a plant without leaves… after 4 weeks, a new leaf was produced as the plant is kept in near ideal conditions… so I will soon have my first magnificum silver leaf. It is already 12cm top to bottom… still reddish brown as it is still a young leaf. Looking forward to more leaves 😊❤️

Magnificum Silver

I received a pretty full plant with about 5 leaves on it, and a pretty hearty root system, but unfortunately it was completely dry and it didn’t like that. So far it’s lost 2 leaves (which I expected) and a 3rd one soon. The largest leaf is looking the best with minimal damage, so hopefully it’s acclimating and will start producing new leaves soon.

Anthurium magnificum Silver?

The one I received does not look like this one in this photo. It's green, but the lines are not as big as the photo. Doing well, really would have preferred to get one with these amazing pronounced lines.
