The leaves are broadly cordate with prominent primary venation, a semi-matte to lightly velvety surface, and a compact upright habit — with new growth emerging in a striking contrasting flush against the mature foliage.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can flatten the velvety texture and scorch the leaves.
• Temperature: 65–82°F (18–28°C); a warm tropical grower that performs best with stable temperatures and no cold drafts.
