A striking star-shaped species native to the rocky mountain outcroppings of South America, this compact lithophyte is highly prized for its brilliant and intensely colored flowers. The plant features stiff, upright, purplish-green foliage that serves as an elegant backdrop to the erect inflorescences bearing clusters of vibrant, exceptionally long-lasting spring blooms.
