Restrepia contorta orange is a cool-growing orchid species of the genus Restrepia, grown and propagated at our nurseries in Ecuador.
-
Light: Bright, indirect light, out of direct midday sun.
-
Temperature: It prefers days of 15-24 °C (59-75 °F) and cooler nights around 10-15 °C (50-59 °F).
-
Humidity: High humidity (70-85%) with constant gentle air movement, much like its cloud-forest conditions, keeps the plant healthy and prevents fungal spots.
-
Watering: Water regularly during active growth, allowing the medium to begin drying between waterings. Reduce slightly during the cooler months.
Additional notes: The lowercase epithet 'orange' tells you this is the orange color form of the species, distinct from its typical coloring - these selected forms are favorites among collectors.
