Masdevallia Prince Charming

A primary hybrid between Masd. angulata and Masd. veitchiana, combining the angular, sharply tailed sepals of the first parent with the bold, velvety texture and imposing flower size inherited from the second. The result is a striking, well-proportioned bloom with elongated sepaline tails and a smooth, lustrous surface that catches the light beautifully.

• Light: 70–80% shade cloth; bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which scorches the thin leaves and stresses the plant.
• Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C) — Cool grower. A consistent day-to-night temperature drop helps trigger blooming; avoid prolonged exposure above 70°F (21°C).
• Humidity: 80–90%. Pair with strong air circulation to keep foliage dry and prevent fungal rot at the crown and roots.
• Watering: 2–3 times per week; keep roots evenly moist at all times. This hybrid has no pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drying out. Use soft, low-mineral water when possible.

Additional Notes

Grown and propagated by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador. Best suited for dedicated cool-growing setups. Shipped bare root, well-established.
