Bulbophyllum longissimum

A fragrant intermediate to warm-growing epiphyte from the forests of Southeast Asia, producing pendant umbellate inflorescences with several simultaneously opening flowers. Each bloom bears extraordinarily elongated, strongly veined lateral sepals terminating in long ciliate filaments, a small hairy dorsal sepal, diminutive fringed petals, and contrasting yellow labelos — one of the most elegant pendant inflorescences in the genus.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to protect the foliage.
• Temperature: 60–82°F (15–28°C); an intermediate to warm grower with a minimum tolerance around 55°F (13°C).
• Humidity: 70–85%; maintain high humidity with strong air movement to keep roots healthy.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern, or in a basket with a coarse bark mix to allow the pendant inflorescences to hang freely. Ships bare root, well established.
