A floriferous epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing tall, pyramidal spikes densely set with numerous small flowers arranged along well-branched secondary rachises. The narrow sepals and petals have a smooth texture with a gently undulate margin, while the compact trilobed lip features a rounded frontal lobe and a visible basal callus.
-
Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can stress the pseudobulbs and foliage.
-
Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with distinct seasonal temperature variation and consistent air movement.
-
Humidity: 65–85%; high ambient moisture supports vigorous growth and the production of tall, multi-branched pyramidal spikes.
-
Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.
Additional Notes
Best grown in a medium bark mix with excellent drainage and good airflow around the roots. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
