A floriferous epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing long, arching spikes densely set with numerous small to medium-sized star-shaped flowers. The narrow, lanceolate sepals and petals bear dark basal spots, while the broad trilobed lip features an undulate frontal lobe and a prominent central callus.
-
Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the long lanceolate foliage.
-
Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with distinct seasonal temperature variation and good air movement.
-
Humidity: 65–85%; high ambient moisture supports vigorous growth and encourages the production of multiple spikes.
-
Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.
Additional Notes
Best grown in a medium bark mix or mounted on cork with excellent drainage and airflow. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
