A Colombian cloud forest species bearing flowers with broad, richly textured sepals and characteristic tail extensions, blooming successively on upright stems throughout the year. It is a rewarding species for cool-growing enthusiasts. This plant is offered in a larger-than-standard commercial size.

• Temperature: Cool grower. Daytime 58–68°F (14–20°C), nighttime 48–55°F (9–13°C); stable cool temperatures are essential for long-term health and blooming.
