Encyclia cordigera f. pink

I love Ecuagenera, and their fantastic selection of orchids and tropical plants. I was thrilled to find they offered the encyclia I was looking for. The one I received looks beautiful and healthy, but every single root in its big rootball is flattened and dead. No live roots. Encyclia are tough and I have planted it anyway, and only hope it's able to support its well developed new growth on brand new roots it hasn't developed yet.

How Ecuagenera is able to offer such good, healthy plants, bring them to orchid shows all over as well as ship them internationally I don't know. Respect! The dead roots won't stop me from shopping Ecuagenera again.

I suppose the roots are trimmed for international transport? Ecuador to USA. But the leaves look healthy. Bulbs are plump. I hope to be able to nurse her to health!
