Dendrobium Papuatu f. orange Culture
Dendrobium Papuatu f. orange is a Dendrobium orchid hybrid grown at our nurseries in Ecuador. Like most of its genus it appreciates cool-to-intermediate conditions and steady, attentive care.
-
Light: Bright light; a few hours of gentle sun help flowering.
-
Temperature: Day temperatures of 18-26 °C (64-79 °F) with a gentle drop at night to 12-18 °C (54-64 °F) suit it best.
-
Humidity: High humidity (70-85%) with constant gentle air movement, much like its cloud-forest conditions, keeps the plant healthy and prevents fungal spots.
-
Watering: Water regularly during active growth, allowing the medium to begin drying between waterings. Reduce slightly during the cooler months.
Additional notes: 'orange' in the name denotes its orange color form, a departure from the usual coloring of the species that collectors especially look for.
