This fragrant hybrid showcases large, showy flowers with rich coloration and classic cattleya form, rewarding growers with multiple blooms throughout the year when given warm conditions and bright light.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light with 30-50% shade cloth. Avoid direct midday sun which can scorch leaves.
  • Temperature: Warm grower. Daytime 70-85°F (21-29°C), nighttime 60-65°F (16-18°C). Benefits from consistent warmth year-round.
  • Humidity: 50-70% with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues. Use humidity trays or room humidifiers.
  • Watering: Water when medium approaches dryness, typically every 5-7 days. Mounted plants need more frequent watering; reduce slightly in winter.

Additional Notes

Named after the historic Pumapungo archaeological site in Ecuador. Thrives in medium bark mix with perlite or mounted on cork bark with sphagnum moss.
