Anthurium

Anthurien gehören zu den ikonischsten und vielfältigsten Gattungen innerhalb der Familie der Araceae. Sie sind weltbekannt für ihre auffälligen, herzförmigen Blätter und ihre langlebigen, farbenprächtigen Blütenstände. Diese in den tropischen Regionen Amerikas beheimateten ausdauernden Pflanzen werden besonders wegen ihrer glänzenden, wachsartigen Hochblätter – der sogenannten Spatha – geschätzt. Diese werden oft fälschlicherweise für die eigentlichen Blüten gehalten und erstrahlen in leuchtenden Nuancen von Rot, Rosa, Weiß, Violett und Grün, was einen wunderschönen Kontrast zu ihren schlanken, schwanzähnlichen Blütenkolben (Spadices) bildet. Neben ihrer prachtvollen Blüte bestechen viele Anthurien-Arten zudem durch ihr atemberaubendes, samtiges oder fein geädertes Laub, das jedem Raum eine üppige, architektonische Ästhetik verleiht.
