Bulbophyllum pecten-veneris

An intermediate-growing epiphyte from the montane forests of Southeast Asia, producing pendant umbellate inflorescences with multiple simultaneously opening flowers. Each bloom bears extraordinarily elongated, thread-like lateral sepals that cascade downward in a sweeping arc, creating the comb-like silhouette that gives the species its name — among the most dramatic inflorescence structures in the genus.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to protect the foliage.
• Temperature: 58–78°F (14–26°C); an intermediate grower with a minimum tolerance around 55°F (13°C).
• Humidity: 75–90%; high humidity is essential — ensure strong air movement to prevent fungal issues.
• Watering: Keep roots consistently moist but never waterlogged; water frequently with excellent drainage and airflow.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern to allow the pendant inflorescences to hang freely and ensure optimal airflow at the roots. Ships bare root, well established.
