Barbosella orbicularis is an utterly charming miniature epiphytic orchid described by Luer in 1977, native to the cloud forests of the Andes. Its name says it all — orbicularis meaning "round" or "circular," a nod to its distinctive small, rounded leaves that form a creeping, mat-like growth habit as the plant spreads horizontally across its mount. The flowers are equally delightful: pale yellow and magenta blooms that punch well above their weight for such a tiny plant. Remarkably adaptable across a wide temperature range, it is one of the more forgiving miniatures in the genus and an excellent choice for terrarium growers and miniature orchid enthusiasts alike.
