A robust epiphyte from the cloud forests of Central America, bearing large, commanding flowers with broad, undulating sepals and petals. The defining feature is its enormous, elaborately fringed lip — one of the most iconic in the orchid world and a cornerstone of Cattleya alliance hybridization.
Additional Notes
Best grown in a coarse bark mix or mounted on cork bark with excellent drainage. The fragrant blooms are produced from mature pseudobulbs and benefit from a brief dry rest period after growth matures. Ships bare-root in excellent condition.
Healthy plant, nice package
Thank you for your review!✨
This plant arrived well package and bare root. The largest leaf is 5 inches long, then two were 4", the last three...3 1/2"...2"... 1/2". A new growth didn't make it, but that's fine. It has been washed, watered, sprayed, potted, and quarantined. Now it's just sitting in a mini greenhouse soaking up some sunlight. I had bought a seedling which cost more than this purchase. It's still alive, but what a difference between the two. I'm glad I was able to buy it before it was sold out!
