Description

Description

An unusual miniature pleurothallid bearing successive, paddle-shaped flowers with a distinctive, spatula-like form that sets it apart within the genus — a conversation piece for collectors drawn to the remarkable structural diversity of Lepanthes. Its intermediate-warm tolerance makes it more accessible than many of its cool-growing relatives.

  • Light: Low to moderate indirect light under 60–70% shade cloth; avoid any direct sun exposure to protect the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm grower. Daytime 65–75°F (18–24°C), nighttime lows of 55–62°F (13–17°C); tolerates warmer conditions better than most Lepanthes species.
  • Humidity: Prefers 75–85% relative humidity; a humidifier or terrarium setup works well, with gentle air movement to prevent fungal issues on the fine foliage.
  • Watering: Keep the mount or substrate consistently moist; fine roots must never be allowed to dry out completely between waterings.

Additional Notes

Native to Colombia at lower to mid elevations in humid forests. Best grown mounted on cork bark or tree fern with a thin layer of sphagnum moss, though small pots with fine bark or pure sphagnum are also suitable.
