Lepanthes dodsonii

A distinctive miniature species native to Ecuador. It grows orbicular leaves densely covered in long trichomes across the entire surface, giving the plant a markedly hirsute texture, and produces successive small flowers with elongated sepals and a complex labellum emerging directly from the leaf.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can damage the densely hairy foliage.
• Temperature: 60–78°F (16–26°C); an Intermediate-Warm grower that tolerates warmer conditions than most Lepanthes.
• Humidity: 75–90%; maintain consistently high humidity — ideal for warm terrarium setups.
• Watering: Water frequently to keep the medium evenly moist; avoid prolonged dryness, as Lepanthes roots are sensitive to dehydration.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a small net pot with fine sphagnum moss. Its uniquely hirsute foliage makes it one of the most texturally distinctive Lepanthes for terrarium culture. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
