Epidendrum macbridei

A reed-stem epiphyte endemic to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing lax racemes of few, well-spaced flowers with curved ovaries that give the blooms a gracefully downward-facing orientation. The flowers display broad, oval, horizontally spreading sepals, shorter curved petals, and a prominent three-lobed white lip with spreading lateral lobes, an apiculate central lobe, and a visible callus.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to prevent stress on the foliage.
• Temperature: 50–72°F (10–22°C); an intermediate-cool grower that benefits from cool nights and good air movement.
• Humidity: 70–85%; good air circulation around the stems and roots helps prevent fungal issues.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
