Information

Description

Description

A compact reed-stem orchid native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing short, dense terminal racemes with tightly clustered small flowers bearing very narrow, linear sepals and petals nestled among leafy bracts. The upright canes and condensed floral habit make it a neat, well-structured specimen.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun exposure, which can stress the foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that benefits from the temperature drops typical of high-elevation Andean cloud forests.
  • Humidity: 75–85%; high ambient humidity encourages healthy cane development and consistent blooming.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid waterlogging at the roots.

Additional Notes

A species native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, best grown in a fine, well-draining bark-based mix. The compact growth habit makes it suitable for small pots or mounted culture. Ships bare root, well-established.
