Information

Description

Description

A compact reed-stem epiphyte endemic to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing dense corymbs of small, waxy, star-shaped flowers clustered among lanceolate, leathery leaves. The blooms display narrow, elongated, acuminate sepals and petals spreading widely in a star formation, alongside a small, three-lobed lip with a sharply contrasting dark punctiform callus at its center.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to prevent stress on the leathery foliage.
  • Temperature: 54–75°F (12–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from moderate temperature fluctuations between day and night.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; good air movement around the roots and stems helps prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
