Description

Description

The reciprocal cross of Paph. Yuraq — with Paph. delenatii as the seed parent and Paph. Bellatrix as the pollen parent — this refined slipper orchid inherits the soft, luminous palette of its parents: pristine white to blush-pink petals, a delicately veined dorsal sepal, and a smooth, pouched lip in pale rose.

  • Light: Thrives in low to moderate indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; Paphiopedilum hybrids with delenatii influence are sensitive to excess light, which can cause leaf yellowing.
  • Temperature: Intermediate grower. Daytime temperatures of 65–75°F (18–24°C) and nighttime lows of 58–65°F (14–18°C); avoid temperature extremes for best performance.
  • Humidity: Maintain 60–75% relative humidity with gentle air movement; stagnant air around the crown can lead to rot.
  • Watering: Keep the medium consistently moist but never waterlogged; water every 5–7 days and ensure the crown remains dry after watering to prevent bacterial rot.

Additional Notes

The name Yuraq means "white" in Quechua, reflecting the pale, luminous tones of this hybrid. Best grown in a fine bark and perlite mix or sphagnum moss in a well-draining pot; avoid clay pots that retain excess moisture around the roots.
