A cool-growing epiphytic orchid from the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing pendant flowers on drooping scapes from the base of the plant. The broadly rounded, concave lateral sepals and hooded dorsal sepal have a smooth, finely papillose surface, with very long slender tails on all three sepals and a small labellum with a visible column at the center — forming a compact, rounded silhouette that sets this species apart from others in the genus.
Additional Notes
Must be grown in a basket or open container to allow the pendant flower scapes to emerge downward freely. Offered as a well-established plant of 10–15 cm, shipped bare root. A distinctive and collectible species prized for its unusually compact, rounded floral form within the genus.
I received this orchid in perfect condition. Nice, well rooted healthy plant!
