Information

Description

Description

A robust and free-flowering species from the Andean cloud forests, it produces warm-toned reddish-brown flowers with darker striping and long, gracefully curved tails. Its upright, reed-like foliage and vigorous clumping habit make it a distinctive presence in any collections.

  • Light: Low to moderate light; 60–70% shade cloth recommended. Avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C). Intermediate to warm grower; tolerates warmer conditions better than most Masdevallia species.
  • Humidity: 70–85%. Maintain good humidity with adequate airflow to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water regularly, allowing the surface to approach dryness between waterings. Avoid waterlogging.

Additional Notes

Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador, this species thrives in fine bark or sphagnum moss with excellent drainage. A great option for growers in intermediate conditions. Shipped bare root, well-established.
