Light: Plectrophora alata thrives in bright, indirect light. Filtered light from an east or north-facing window, or under artificial grow lights, is typically ideal.

Temperature: This species prefers cool to intermediate temperatures. Aim for daytime temperatures between 18-24°C (65-75°F) and a significant drop at night, ideally down to 10-16°C (50-60°F). 

Humidity: High humidity is crucial for Plectrophora alata, ideally between 70-90%. Consider growing it in a terrarium, a display case, or in an area with a humidifier.
