Dendrobium aphyllum

Dendrobium aphyllum is a graceful deciduous orchid admired for its long, pendant canes and generous display of soft pink flowers. As the leaves fall and mature canes enter their resting phase, blooms emerge directly along the bare stems, creating a cascading spring spectacle accented by pale, delicately fringed lips.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide bright, filtered light during active growth, increasing light slightly after the canes mature while avoiding harsh midday sun.
• Water: Water and fertilize generously while new canes are growing. Once growth matures and leaves begin to fall, reduce watering sharply, providing only enough moisture to prevent severe cane shriveling until buds appear.
• Humidity: Maintain moderate to high humidity with strong air circulation. Good airflow is especially important during the drier rest.
• Temperature: Grow warm to intermediate during active growth, followed by cooler nights during the winter rest to support flowering.
• Growing medium: Use a basket, mount, or coarse, fast-draining orchid mix that allows the long canes to hang naturally.
