Information

Description

Description

A compact epiphyte from the Andean cloud forests, bearing solitary flowers with fleshy, oblong sepals and a distinctly spotted lip. The flowers emerge on slender, pendant scapes from the base of pseudobulbs, giving the plant an elegant, arching presentation.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that appreciates cool nights and stable conditions without sudden fluctuations.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; higher humidity promotes healthy root activity and consistent flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; never leave roots sitting in saturated media.

Additional Notes

Best grown in fine bark or mounted on cork bark to accommodate its pendant flower habit. Ships bare root and well-established.
