Lycopodium lucidulum

A primitive vascular plant from the humid forests of the Americas, producing erect, dichotomously branching stems densely clothed in spirally arranged, linear-subulate microphylls with curved tips. Its architectural, miniature tree-like habit and lush, textured appearance make it a striking ornamental for cool, humid growing environments.

• Light: Low to medium indirect light with 60–80% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can desiccate the fine microphylls and stress the shallow root system.
• Temperature: 45–68°F (7–20°C); a cool grower that requires stable, mild temperatures and excellent air circulation.
• Humidity: 75–95%; very high humidity is essential at all times to maintain the dense microphyll coverage and support healthy growth.
• Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist; never allow to dry out, as the plant has no true roots for water storage and is highly sensitive to desiccation.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a pot with a moisture-retentive, well-aerated mix such as sphagnum moss combined with perlite, with strong air movement to prevent fungal issues. Shipped as a well-established plant, ready to pot upon arrival.
