Information

Description

Description

A stunning classic hybrid, this registered cross between C. dowiana and C. tigrina features a robust sympodial growth habit with upright pseudobulbs. It produces terminal inflorescences that carry large, substance-heavy flowers boasting a prominent, richly detailed lip and an intensely alluring fragrance.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; providing strong, filtered light is essential to ensure regular and robust flowering.
  • Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C); thrives in intermediate to warm conditions and enjoys a slight nighttime drop in temperature.
  • Humidity: 50–70%; high humidity combined with steady air movement prevents stagnation and promotes optimal foliar health.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and let the medium dry almost completely between waterings, reducing the frequency slightly during winter dormancy.

Additional Notes

This cross yields medium to large, star-shaped flowers characterized by heavy substance, a finely fringed or contrastingly colored lip, and a sweet, long-lasting scent. This blooming-size plant ships bare root and must be thoroughly rehydrated and potted in a well-draining orchid mix immediately upon arrival.
