Information

Description

Description

A charming mini-miniature species originating from the wet forests of Central America and Colombia, producing small, densely tufted foliage with short ramicauls. The unique inflorescences branch out successively to hold fascinating, jewel-like flowers adorned with beautifully elongated sepal tails and a bulbous, detailed lip that instantly captures the eye.

  • Light: Medium to bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; safeguard the diminutive leaves from direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 65–86°F (18–30°C); a warm-growing species that adapts perfectly to temperate terrariums or indoor spaces.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; demands high, stable atmospheric moisture combined with gentle air movement to thrive.
  • Watering: Water regularly to keep the fine root system consistently damp; provide excellent drainage so the substrate never becomes stagnant.

Additional Notes

Thrives optimally when grown in miniature net pots filled with high-grade sphagnum moss or mounted on cork bark to display its compact, moss-like growth habit. This tiny specimen ships bare root and well established, requiring a gentle rehydration at an intermediate temperature before final potting or mounting upon arrival.
