Trichocentrum Larry Sexton

This is a primary hybrid between Trt. aurisasinorum and Trt. nanum known for its compact size, making it an excellent candidate for windowsills or terrariums. Both parent species are epiphytes found across Central America. This hybrid is characterized by small, round pseudobulbs topped by a single, fleshy, upright leaf.

• Light: Requires bright, filtered light. It can tolerate higher light levels than many other orchids, but direct, intense midday sun should be avoided to prevent leaf burn.
• Temperature: Classified as an intermediate to warm-growing hybrid. Maintain daytime temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Night temperatures can drop into the 60-65°F (16-18°C) range.
• Humidity: Requires moderate to high humidity, ideally 50% to 70%. Good air circulation is essential to prevent spotting on the fleshy leaves and to ensure the roots dry correctly after watering.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the medium is nearly dry. The small pseudobulbs indicate it can tolerate a brief drying period between waterings, but it should not be left dry for extended periods, especially during active growth.

Additional Notes

This is a compact plant with a relatively small footprint. It produces arching to pendent inflorescences that carry numerous small, showy flowers.
