Описание

This is an exceptionally large selected form of the classic Phrag. caudatum, known for its huge flowers and notably long petals. It's a large, robust orchid that grows on cliffs, slopes, or trees across a broad range in Central and South America, thriving in cool to warm conditions.

  • Light: It prefers moderate, indirect light or filtered light. Protect it from direct sun exposure, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: This orchid thrives in intermediate to cool temperatures. The ideal daytime range is 65-75°F (18-24°C), with a distinct nighttime drop to 55-65°F (13-18°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity is required, ideally between 60-80%. Ensure excellent air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water frequently to keep the potting medium consistently moist; it should never dry out. Ensure the pot has excellent drainage.

Additional Notes

The 'Giganteum' variety is famous for its extraordinarily long, pendulous petals that can reach over 30 cm (1 foot) in length, twisting as they hang. This is a sequential bloomer, meaning it produces multiple flowers one after another for an extended floral display.
