Описание

A distinctive variety of this leaf-blooming Andean epiphyte, growing on terete, spotted leaves. The flower's vivid chartreuse-yellow periath — erect dorsal sepal, concave synsepalum, and small lateral petals — frames a prominently dark, rugose labelo at the center, creating a bold face-like contrast that sets it apart from the typical form.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the terete, succulent leaves.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a Cool grower that performs best with stable cool conditions and good air movement. Minimum 45°F (7°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%; mount or grow in a small pot with a fine open mix to maintain moisture around the roots while ensuring good airflow.
  • Watering: Water regularly to keep roots evenly moist; avoid prolonged dryness between waterings.

Additional Notes

The terete leaf habit and vivid yellow-green periath make this variety a striking oddity among pleurothallids. Best grown mounted on cork or in a small pot with a fine, well-draining mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
