Phragmipedium Ingrid Suarez Ecuagenera

A floriferous hybrid of Phrag. kovachii × Phrag. humboldtii, two of the most celebrated large-flowered slipper orchid species from South America. It produces multi-flowered inflorescences with large, broad dorsal sepals, elongated lateral petals that curve and twist downward, and a well-defined, prominent slipper-shaped labellum — combining the imposing floral size of both parents into an exceptional Ecuagenera original.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the strap-like foliage and stress the plant during spike development.
• Temperature: 58–78°F (14–26°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from a slight temperature drop at night to encourage spike initiation.
• Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports healthy root and foliage development between bloom cycles.
• Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist but never waterlogged; Phragmipediums lack pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drying out completely.

Additional Notes

Offered as a well-established plant of 20–25 cm, shipped bare root. Best grown in a fine to medium bark or perlite-based mix with excellent drainage. An Ecuagenera original selection and a landmark hybrid for any serious slipper orchid collection.
