Philodendron rubrijuvenile (medium)

A hemiepiphytic climber from the cloud forests of South America, producing cordate leaves with prominently contrasting primary venation on a semi-velvety surface and characteristic reddish petioles. Offered here at medium size, this stage presents well-developed foliage that already expresses the full ornamental character of the species.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the semi-velvety leaf surface and fade the venation pattern.
• Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); a cool to intermediate grower that performs best with stable, mild temperatures and good air circulation.
• Humidity: 70–90%; high humidity is essential for full leaf expansion and to maintain the characteristic velvety texture and reddish petioles.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the top layer of substrate begins to dry; avoid waterlogging and never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Offered as a well-established plant of 20–30 cm, shipped bare root. Best grown with a moss pole or support to encourage climbing and progressively larger leaf development. A highly sought-after species for collectors of velvety-leaved Philodendrons.
