Philodendron clarkei

Philodendron clarkei brings lush tropical foliage to a collector's plant display. Its green leaves offer a natural contrast to finely textured ferns and other aroids, while emerging growth provides an engaging detail to follow as the plant develops. Watching a fresh leaf unfurl and settle into its mature form is part of the pleasure of growing this botanical Philodendron.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight. Avoid harsh direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
• Temperature: Maintain moderate to warm, stable conditions. Protect from frost, cold drafts, and sudden temperature changes.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the upper layer of the mix begins to dry. Keep the root zone lightly moist rather than saturated, and never leave the pot standing in water.
• Humidity: Provide moderate to high humidity with gentle air circulation to support developing foliage.
• Soil: Use an airy, well-drained aroid mix, such as bark, coco coir, and perlite. Choose a container with drainage holes and avoid compacted soil.
• Feeding: Apply a diluted balanced fertilizer during active growth, following the manufacturer's directions. Reduce feeding when growth slows and rinse the medium periodically to limit salt buildup.
• Maintenance: Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth and inspect regularly for pests. Repot when roots need additional space, choosing a pot only slightly larger than the root system.
• Safety: Keep away from children and pets. Like other Philodendrons, this plant contains calcium oxalate crystals and is harmful if chewed or ingested.

With filtered light, an airy potting mix, and attentive watering, Philodendron clarkei adds a fresh tropical accent to a thoughtfully maintained foliage collection.
