Ornithidium aureum var silver leaf

Ornithidium aureum var. silver leaf is a distinctive foliage selection valued for the silvery character indicated by its catalog name. Its refined orchid growth and unusual leaf presentation make it especially appealing in a humid collection where subtle botanical details can be appreciated up close.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide medium filtered light and protect the foliage from intense direct sun.
• Water: Keep the roots lightly and consistently moist during active growth, allowing thorough drainage after each watering. Reduce frequency slightly when growth slows, but avoid a prolonged hard dry rest.
• Humidity: Maintain moderate to high humidity with gentle, continuous airflow.
• Temperature: Grow in intermediate conditions, avoiding temperature extremes and cold drafts.
• Growing medium: Use a fresh, fine-to-medium orchid mix that retains some moisture while remaining loose and well aerated.

With filtered light, dependable moisture, moderate temperatures, humidity, and excellent airflow, this silver-leaf selection can develop into a distinctive foliage-focused orchid specimen.
